University of Doha for Science and Technology, located in Doha- the capital city of Qatar, offers the Amiri Scholarship to international students (50 international students get the scholarship) which includes- 

  1. Tuition fee waiver for obtaining a bachelor’s degree 
  2. Textbook fees waiver 
  3. Accommodation and transportation 
  4. Health insurance 
  5. Monthly stipend 
  6. Coverage of visa processing fees (for international students) 
  7. Annual one round trip economy class ticket (for international students) 

The application for the Amiri scholarship starts in January and ends in late May. Admission decisions are released on a rolling basis from March.  

Eligibility Criteria: 

Academic Profile: 

  1. High school graduation certificate or equivalent approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with a minimum average of 90% or equivalent 
  2. Successful completion of final year Math, Science (Chemistry/Biology/Physics), and any other subject-specific entry requirements for the Program with a minimum score of 90% or equivalent. 
  3. The applicant should be a high school graduate in the same or previous year in which the scholarship application is made. 

Standardized Test Requirements:
      Applicants are required to satisfy the minimum English and Mathematics test score requirements, as shown in the Table below:

  2. Academic Background (During selecting the school, search “not”. Select not in State school)
  3. University Details (Student ID#/Program applied to) 
  4. Personal Statement (1 page) 
  5. For International Students – Copy of High School transcript attested by the official authorities of the home country

The required documents for application will include: 

  1. Copy of Qatari ID on both sides (if applicable) 
  2. Copy of Passport 
  3. A copy of High school graduation certificate or equivalent approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (SSC & HSC)
  4. Official Copy of the standardized test scores for English and Math as mentioned above.
  5. Professional Certification(s) (if any) 
  6. Proof of Extra-curricular Achievement(s) 
  7. Two Academic Reference Letters 
  8. For International Students – Copy of High School transcript attested by the official authorities of the home country.

Note that: During my application, only the highlighted parts were required though all these were present on the official website during my application time also. I got an offer letter also.
