
American University of Sharjah (AUS) scholarship and ranking
American University of Sharjah, located in Sharjah, UAE ranks 601-800th in the world. It provides several scholarships but among those only one-Presidential Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship. It covers 100 percent of tuition and lab fees and an application fee waiver, offers a monthly stipend for the duration of the scholarship, and includes on-campus housing, three round-trip tickets for awardees during their years of study, and student medical insurance.
It will be offered for qualifying first-time, first-year students who will enroll at AUS in the fall semester. The selection process depends heavily on academic excellence and a series of other requirements that showcase students’ achievements. The scholarship will be renewable for students who continue to maintain the scholarship requirements.
Application and Requirements
Academic requirements:
- British qualification: 3 A-levels & 5 GCSEs (All A grades)
- IB Diploma: Minimum 40 points
- American curriculum: Minimum 98% with 3 APs at grade 5 or SAT combined score of 1400 – Weighted average
- Others: Equivalent to the above requirements (Students coming from Bangladesh must achieve 92% or above and provide an SAT score of 1400-AUS admission officer)
- IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 94
The highlighted parts are enough for academic qualifications to get the scholarship. I mailed the university and talked to them. However, it is better to mail (infodesk@aus.edu ) your transcripts, SAT score, and English Proficiency results to the university before applying for clarification.
Additional requirements:
Applicants are to submit a portfolio including:
- An essay detailing extracurricular activities, talents, social activities, and anticipated contribution to AUS
- Evidence of outstanding personal qualities and leadership abilities in schools/community
- Evidence of scientific or literary contributions to the community
- School honors/awards, community service, and school extracurricular activities
- Submit a 3-to-5-minute video describing why they should be considered for the scholarship
- Two letters of recommendation
Registration status: Minimum of 15 credit hours/semester (fall and spring)
Other conditions:
- No student conduct code violations that result in conduct probation or greater sanctions
- No academic integrity code violations that result in a sanction
- Applicants will be evaluated based on their grades 10, 11, and predicted grades for the final year (where applicable). The conditional scholarship offer will be revoked for those not meeting the predicted grades in the final year. They can be considered for merit scholarships and/or financial grants.
